Brad, Take Two??

So, the word on the street is that Mr. Brad Womack will Be The Next Bachelor.

As all of my fans know, I have ALWAYS said that Brad is my favorite Bachelor. I really thought he dumped both of those girls bc he was not into either of them, and I really thought that was a genuine and honest thing to do. I didn't think he was a jerk, I thought that he really just felt like he didn't want to lead either girl on.

Now, I do remember that he sent a lot of good girls home though, and in the end didn't really have any good girls left to choose from. I ESPECIALLY do not like DeAnna. I mean, she is the one season I actually did NOT watch... if you can possibly conceive of such a thing? So I'm not sure he is the brightest match in the shed.

I wonder if he will pull that prank again where he tries to trick the girls into thinking his twin is him?

Also, if I seriously have to see the clip of him again telling DeAnna that he can't look her in her EYE and say he loves her, I will DIE!

All in all, I guess I am ok with this decision. I guess he is cute?

I am also happy that Chris L. is not going to do it. I think that says a lot for him, like that he is genuine too, etc. But he might just be too busy playing beer bong?

Bachelor Pad - Episode Two

Ok, so obviously I'm not as devoted to re-capping Pad as I was to -ette. But I am watching it now and finding it kind of interesting. I liked how Weatherman and Gia were getting all strategic and trying to form alliances, etc.It was kind of even messing with my own head. As I walked around work and friends, I kept thinking about how I should act like I'm friends with everyone and on their team, but then BETRAY them at the first opportunity and vote them off the island to further my own agenda.
Of course, I have no real agenda.....

Speaking of which.... is it just me, or does $250,000 NOT actually sound like that much money??? I mean, by the time you give half of it away to the government, that only leaves you with about $125,000... which is approximately MY yearly salary [in my dreams]. It's also kind of an odd number... not a nice solid number like "Half a mil!" aka $500,000. Which does make me wonder if there is going to be some sort of twist at the end involving love and money, like they can get even MORE money if they forgo true love or something. I don't know... I'm just saying $250,000 is a weird/low number.
I find this hilarious... how they "don't know" Gwen's age. And I thought it was pretty harsh/slightly funny? when Jesse, aka-Max-look-alike said that he thought of Gwen as a Mom. Ouch!

All the making out and hooking up definitely makes my stomach churn. It's just seriously gross and disgusting.... tho not as disgusting as the pie-eating contest. Why in the HELL would they put that on TV?????? That was the sickest thing I have ever seen in my entire life, and I am talking BEFORE they started vomiting. WTF?!?!?!?!!!!!
Also, my self esteem definitely took a steep nose dive for a minute, looking at all the hot girls strutting around in bikinis. I mean, this is "reality" TV... these girls are like any of us... WE should look like them, no??

But then I reassured myself that they are NOT representing "reality" and most of REAL girls walking around in every day life are not as pretty as the Bachelorettes. Well at least real girls outside of LA....

PLUS, everyone knows that Christina Hendricks is the woman that all the men LOVE the most:
I also am really liking Elizabeth this show. I was enraged on Jake's season when she tricked him into making out with her forehead. But I really thought she redeemed herself at the WTA... and I'm finding her pretty damn amusing on this show. I kind of feel like she is putting on a good, entertaining show for us... and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I liked the part in her confessional when she is like "Uhhh, I'm so emotional right now!" and wipes a tear away. I kept saying that all weekend as I cleaned out my closets and got rid of old clothes. "I'm so emotional right now."
Anyway, I think that's all I've got for now. I figured I better make at least one Bachelor Pad post so Grace has somewhere to post her comments other than an antiquated Bachelorette finale post.

Monday Thoughts

Sorry for not re-capping The Bachelorette Finale.... it's just such old news at this point and I really have nothing else to say.

Apparently Bachelor Pad premieres tonight! I thought we had a week off, but apparently I was wrong..... there's a first time for everything.

I will be tuning in and then will DECIDE if I will re-cap it or not. As I have stated before, everyone else seems to be super excited about this... but I think it looks kind of disgusting. However, maybe I'll get addicted.

Here's hoping!!

Julie and Sarah Do Kimmel Live

So, thanks to Paulette, who hooked up me and Sarah with tickets to see Ali and Roberto on Jimmy Kimmel Live. As soon as we arrived, we saw Ali in the alley... (hahaha!!) She came outside, looking for some alleged fans who had wanted to get a picture with her... but the fans were no where to be seen. Not wanting Ali to feel embarrassed, Sarah and I graciously offered to take our picture with her:
Sarah had the brilliant idea to take the Metro down to Hollywood and Highland. And it was definitely the best idea ever. It took us like five minutes. If we had tried to drive, we would have been stuck in traffic for hours.
The "Step Up 3D" or something premiere was also happening on Hollywood Blvd, and put a real cramp in our style trying to get backstage to Kimmel.
But we made it back stage to the green room where we got food and drinks and witnessed Ali and Roberto "canoodling." We got to see the show from there and it was fun.
So I have not thoroughly watched the finale episode yet, just sort of scanned through it. Sorry to be rude, but I find Roberto incredibly boring. And Chris L. mystifies me.
Re-cap coming soon!!!!!

Bachelorette Episode 610 Recap!!!

The Take Home Message: The Men Tell Nothing and Everyone Loves Craig R.

So I thought about not dignifying this episode with a re-cap. But then I realized that is ridiculous and I'd only be hurting myself by doing that.
However, some of this crap really has been re-hashed so much that I really won't dignify it with a comment. Mainly, I am talking about the Rated R girlfriend crap. I really have nothing left to say about that contrived-ass storyline. I've been over him since approximately episode three I think and I find it completely un-interesting at this point.
At least the Frank girlfriend at home storyline was interesting and compelling. To everyone who is pissed about Frank not being at the MTA, Hare said that he would be at the After the Final Rose show next week.Anyway, as per use, the best part of the show was the bloopers reel. Roberto and the champagne attempted murder wasn't that funny.... because Roberto is a snooze fest.
Frank's family's faux toast also wasn't funny. I really hope that Frank didn't inherit his father's sense of humor if he wants to be a successful screenwriter at all. What a dweeb-a-zoid.The astronaut black out memory was OK I guess. Mainly interesting to learn that she was so drunk that night she can't even remember putting on the astronaut helmet.

Being a Cat Lady myself, I thought the part where the cat came and ate their dinner was all right. I mean, my cats are way cuter though.
THE PHANTOM MENACEOk, now this was actually probably in my opinion the most interesting part of the entire show. I really liked the Chris N. slash Phantom segment. I thought that was really funny, as I have also known people who are creepy lurkers who just appear and disappear at random. One might say that they just do a sixty frame dissolve into non-existence. I am really not that tolerant of socially inept people, but this dude Chris N. didn't necessarily seem that creepy, just kind of bizarre. Or maybe he was creepy. I don't know, I just thought the whole phantom thing was funny.
ALSO, I think it gave good insight into the show in general. Chris [Harrison] was like "Everyone thought that we just edited him that way, but no, he really WAS a fader." THIS is what I have been trying to say slash thinking all along. Obviously, I think that this show is contrived and scripted and formulated. BUT, it's contrived, scripted and formulated around people's real personalities. So the reason I watch it is because I get a kick out of trying to identify what everyone's real motives are on the show.
I think most reality shows are fake contests and voting people off the island over drama I can't stand to listen to. BUT when you throw love and dating into it.... no matter how immune you try to stay, somehow these people always get sucked in and their minds get totally messed with. Twenty five people fighting to date one person is ridiculous and messes with everyone's head.
So people end up getting fixated on this goal of dating this one person... who is most likely very wrong for them. Hey, I mean, the odds are stronger that any two people are NOT compatible than that they ARE.
THAT is the reason that I relate to the show and find it interesting and also the reason I believe everyone else does as well. Everyone can relate to being fixated on the wrong guy. And it's a great pleasure to watch other people go through that suffering. Hahaha!
WHICH is why I am NOT convinced that Bachelor Pad is going to be good at all. Everyone else seems to be extremely excited about it. But I am really not convinced honestly. It looks like a bunch of contrived contests to me, which I really don't find interesting. I mean, I have never gotten into watching Survivor or anything like that. And this kind of looks like a Survivor type of show to me. Only like one thousand times sleazier and more obscene. I also am really not a fan of lurid, graphic, crude sex scenes. In fact, I'm kind of taking more and more after my Mom the older I get, in that I kind of prefer G-rated entertainment over smut. I also hate rape scenes, especially when they are gratuitous. (Murder is cool.... as long as no one gets raped first). (Also, I do NOTx10000 recommend seeing "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo"... that sh!t scarred me for life).
Anyway, point being--- when I saw shots of the people in the Bachelor Pad sleeping in the same room and gallivanting around in the hot tub, I had to run to the bathroom and throw up. Then I had to think of scenes from "The Sound of Music" to try to trick my mind into thinking that men and women really do have pure intentions for each other and only want to marry each other and raise each other's seven bastard children. Sorry ABC, but hot tubs, hooking up, fighting, drama is NOT why I watch the Bachelor/ette. I watch IN SPITE of that crap.
Also, I kind of have the same feeling about people who get voted off The Bachelor as I do about real life exes.... I don't care about them and I'm not really interested in hearing anything from or about them ever again for the rest of my natural life.
So, I am NOT committing to re-capping this show. I will definitely give it a TRY and watch at least the first episodes and see how it goes. Maybe if my loyal fan base is just dying for me to blog about Bachelor pad, they can all chip in and buy me an expensive purse. That would definitely motivate me to write up that show.
Anyway, I digress.... if by digress I mean just talked about the most important information to come out of this boring MTA.
Let's see... what else happened of note....

As I said, everyone loves Craig R. I noticed he got a loud cheer when they were all introduced. I guess he just had some smart, funny comments. Whatever.
Weatherman is still gay. And funny. I still think he's funny.
Regarding Frank, I'm not really sure why the men all defended him so much. I don't really have much else to say about the dude. I still think he's a neurotic weirdo. He's the kind of person whose insecurities make him a wild card.... you never know what hurtful antics he may have in store. Personally, I don't really have a need for neurotic weirdos in my life.
I thought Kasey's serenade to Ali was cute and he seemed cool in general. Like Craig R. said, and they all seemed to say -- Kasey is crazy, but still OK. I liked how he said - bottom line, at least he's a good memory. That's actually a really good Take Home Message. Even if things can't work out in a dating situation... at least if you're not a jerk, you probably didn't give someone bad memories.

Kirk almost put me into a coma when he had his heart to heart with Hare.
I guess another general note is on men as a group. Even though lately I'm pretty much in a man-hating phase, this episode did remind me of at least one thing men are good for: straight-forwardness. I like how they all just call Chris N. a creepy phantom. Kasey K. is crazy. The Weatherman is a sell out. Justin is a creep. Frank is a good guy (not sure why they all think that). They just tell it like it is, without any pretense. Girls are way more passive-aggressive, indirect liars. I actually feel bad for men who have to date women, because women make no sense. At least guys just call it how they see it.... not really saying stuff for any ulterior motive other than just saying what they see. (Well, at least that is how NORMAL men act... I know there are some manipulator men out there who enjoy pushing buttons and always have an angle slash agenda.... and I ain't got time for them.)Anyway, that's about all the interesting, useful info we got out of this show.

Here's a bunch of AMAZING behind the scenes coverage if you're interested.

Darn, Craig R. found a girl.... they all have basically.

Yours in the Single Life,
JulieJulie
PS - There's a Bachelor show on E! Wednesday (tonight). Bachelor: Then and Now or something like that, so I obviously recommend watching it. I believe it's on at ten.PPS - The M&M's commercial about the pretzel getting inside the M&M is really gross and inappropriate. I wish they'd stop.

Bachelorette Episode 609 Recap!!

The Take Home Message: Relationships Are Voluntary

Well, we're down to our final three! Ali has sent home all her best prospects (Craig R.) and is left with these three duds: Frank, Chris L., and Robert-o.

And in case anyone hasn't been watching and paying attention all season, we are treated to a re-cap within this episode of everything that has transpired so far and how everyone feels about everything.

So apparently, some assistant editor effed up over there in post production and lost the disc that had all the b-roll of Chris L. packing his suitcase, gazing at pictures of his Mom and jogging along the beach. Needing to come up with a quick fix, the story producer located some miscellaneous b-roll of Chris standing on the corner edge of a building as the sun set on his chiseled features.
Seriously, they cut away to this same scene approximately fifteen hundred times as Chris L. went on and ON about how he was starting to fall in love with Ali, all her great qualities, and how he was finally ready to date again for the first time since his Mom passed away.
ABC, I am here to tell you -- it didn't work! It was very obvious and looked bad. You should have re-shot something so you had more footage to work with.

Fortunately, Roberto's packing footage was not lost.
This footage of him lounging on his bed, tossing his baseball is some of the cheesiest I've ever seen in Bachelor history.
A close second?? The way he pretended to laugh fondly at his Lion King memories. He may have a future in acting. No me gusto Roberto anymore. I think he is excruciatingly boring... and possibly slash likely a player slash jerk.

Anyway, so after Chris L. and Roberto go ON about how great Ali is and how much their families love her and what a great future wife she will be, we cut to Frank... who is feeling pretty much the OPPOSITE.

Rather than go to Tahiti like a normal person, Frank the Neurotic hauls ass to Chicago to re-unite with his stern-featured ex-girlfriend, Nicole.Uhmmm...... o--- kay??? WTF. Frank is such an idiot. I KNOW the producers played a huge part in this, OBVIOUSLY. But still... what in the HELL is wrong with Frank? Personally, I think he is a neurotic freak. I guess some girls like quirky, insecure, out of work writer guys that live in their Moms' basements. NOT ME. She SOOOO should have kept Craig R. around over this loser.

Here is my opinion. Frank is the most insecure, nervous person on the planet. I guess he was falling for Ali. I don't know. I really think he's too wrapped up in himself and his own deficiencies to be into ANYONE. SO! He realized the competition was too stiff and he couldn't take the heat, so he cracked under the pressure. He basically just needed to get the hell out of there, in case Ali didn't pick him. He probably was thinking about Nicole, because he knew she was a sure thing. That level of neuroticism and insecurity needs a pretty sure thing. What's a sure thing? A scorned ex-girlfriend [apparently].So rather than taking a risk and trying for something new, he just went back to what was old and comfortable and what he already knew... his ugly ex-girlfriend. Sorry to be taking pot-shots, but Nicole is NOT an attractive or warm looking woman. Those are some harsh and man-ish features she's sporting. And do NOT accuse me of being a catty woman. If you want to know what women I think are pretty, I will provide you with a list... (my sisters obviously are at the top of that list).
Do I believe that Frank was just sooooooo in love with Nicole and needed her back? No. Honestly, I don't really know WHAT exactly role Frank played in how it all went down. But I think it's obvious he WAS part of it, and that he's a man of little character or integrity. What he did was just stupid and cowardly. Now -- a man of true principles??? Mr. Brad Womack, who was the first person to ever pick NO ONE. Now THAT was a great season!!! My favorite ever actually!! You could tell that he went into it, thinking the whole thing would be a lark. But then at the end, both of the dumb girls were really, ACTUALLY falling for him and he felt bad. So he stood up to the producers and REFUSED to pick either of them, because he just did NOT want to lead either of them on. THAT I respect.Whatever specifically happened in real life behind the scenes, I think Frank's "quirky," neurotic, indecisive personality is to blame for this whole thing and I have no respect for that.

So, I loved how after he decided slash realized that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with his lovely ex-girlfriend Nicole, he suddenly started saying "Now that I've 'decided' I want to be with Nicole, it's time for me to tell Ali." HAHAHA!!! WHAT?? You didn't DECIDE anything, you idiot! You went running back to Nicole like some abused puppy, and SHE decided to take you back. I think if Nicole had rejected him, he probably would have just gone back to Tahiti and tried to get Ali. Or maybe not. Maybe he would have dropped out all together... or turned gay.

A lot of guys seem to be sympathetic to the cause of Frank.... which I don't really get. Just because he's a guy doesn't mean you have to take his side, guys. :)
Sub-Take Home Message: looks don't matter.... even on women. Nicole is the opposite of cute. Let's all not pretend here. I think we could ALL agree that Ali is hotter than Nicole. And yet... WHO ends up with the guy?? Regarding being beautiful: there is definitely a point of diminishing returns. I think it's best to be above average pretty, but not so beautiful that tons and TONS of guys are flocking all around you to the point that you can't even tell who has genuine intentions or not.

I think that's MY problem:
Or not:
Anyway, this episode was put together nicely. We got to see Frank's loving reunion with Nicole first thing. THEN... we cut away to watch Ali's one on one dates with Roberto and Chris L. That was brilliant. Those two dates were so boring, I definitely would have fallen asleep [in a permanent kind of way] if I didn't know the whole Frank fiasco was still looming ahead on the horizon.
Ali arrives in Tahiti, without a care in the world, looking forward to her THREE hot dates. ABC knew we needed some comic relief, so they provided us with this melodramatic slow-motion "Splash" shot of Ali flipping her long, blonde hair extensions in the ocean. That DEFINITELY made me LOL.

First up is Roberto the Hot. Sorry, I'm not trying to short-change you guys, but there was pretty much NOTHING to note on this date. One thing Roberto did that really pissed me off was he tweaked her nose 2x. I can't even believe I just used the word "tweaked." Just typing it out makes me feel dirty and small.Gross!!!!!!! What a belittling gesture!!! If someone did that to MY nose, he would be dumped ASAP!The only other thing I really noticed was that clearly Roberto has never seen this show before. Either that-- or like I said above, he's a really good actor. He was REALLY surprised about that date card Chris Harrison left for them.Anyway, Roberto accepted the key to the fantasy suite and Ali took him there and got the only thing he is good for. I don't like Roberto. I get that's he's "shy" and "quiet" and "nice" or something. But I just think he's a boring ass playa. Next!!!!
On to Ali's One on One Date With Chris L., also known as The Great Clam Massacre of 2010.

Uhm... wtf, y'all?I'm not trying to be a tree-hugging hippie here, but are you really supposed to pluck innocent clams out of the waves and snap them in HALF to steal their pearls???I cringed each time Ali ripped one in half, just looking for a pearl. I prefer not to witness cruelty to animals and to instead pretend it doesn't happen as I stride around town with my leather purses. Yikes.Uhmm.... so I think my crush on Chris has pretty much entirely died. :( Sorry. So sad. I was so in love with him at first.... but I have yet to hear him say ANYTHING clever, smart or interesting. He does seem very sweet. But almost to the point that I am like.... "Uhhhh.... is there like something WRONG with you?"

For example:What the hell is that?? Apparently, Chris L.'s two homely sisters in law never forced him to watch "The Bachelor" either. Chris, you're not supposed to tell the Bachelorette that you ARE in love with you... you are supposed to say something like:

"I am falling in love with you."
"I could SEE myself falling in love with you."
"You are the kind of person I would fall in love with."
"Love is patient, love is kind."

ETC.

You don't actually SAY "God I love you" as you make out on the edge of the pool. It was bizarre.

AND...

Kind of pissed me off.

See, I think Chris is just a nice guy with a big heart, who [apparently] is quick to love. I'm not saying his feelings are misguided. Actually, that is exactly what I am saying. It's just kind of sad to see this nice, sweet guy fall in love with some girl who is going to just blow him to smithereens. I'm really curious to hear what he has to say NOW... in the present tense, now that he is DUMPED. I mean, I'm sorry-- but we all know his ass would have got sent home this week if Frank hadn't dumped Ali. Does Chris L. now realize how wrong Ali was for him, and that he should have a bit more discerning taste in the future? Is he going to Be The Next Bachelor? Inquiring minds want to know....I just think that kind, innocent, gentle and loving souls should find each other and be happy together.... NOT be victimized by people who are looking to further their careers by becoming a "TV Personality."

Anyway..... Ali got what was coming to her anyway. As I said, ABC knew we needed some comic relief and they did not disappoint. I thought Ali flinging her fake blonde hair around was pretty good, but when Frank said he needed to talk to Hare before he dumped Ali, I LOL'd again.Obviously, this conversation had zero content.... but I still loved it.Anyway... so this part was kind of sad. I mean, Ali totally had it coming, by signing up to be on this show. However, this was pretty cruel, I gotta say. I really think Ali mainly was The Bachelorette to further her career and because she wants to be a TV star, like Melissa Rycroft. However, for whatever un-known reason, I do believe that she was madly falling in love with Frank. [If you hadn't noticed, I think Frank is worthless.]
So, this is pretty sick. Look at this picture of Ali here. She is all smiley and happy and giddy with anticipation about her impending date with Frank, who she is planning to give the FINAL rose to, in my opinion. But think about it... the producers interviewing her know EXACTLY what is about to happen and that this is all a cruel trap being laid. Yet, they just goad her and ask her to talk on and on about how excited she is to see the love of her life, Frank... all the while KNOWING she is about to have her heart broken. And how much does THAT suck??? Imagine you are living in the ONE situation on this earth where you really think you are immune from getting dumped --- The Bachelorette. I mean, I am sure Ali didn't REALLY think that Frank would definitely marry her and they would spend their lives together. But I'm sure she DID think that he would "win" the competition, they would at least date for a little bit... and see what happens. Maybe it would work out. Or maybe they'd date privately for a while off camera, and then it wouldn't work out and they'd issue a statement.Instead --- BAM!!!! DUMPED!!!!!!!!!!! Just when you were LEAST expecting it! Now, THAT is some bad luck right there!!! That's something that I feel like would happen to me. Which is why I liked the part when she was like "I just feel like this always happens to me."

Realistically, any person who is single and looking for love can say that though. If you HAD found someone you loved who loved you back.... then you wouldn't be single.

If it was me, I honestly think I would have busted out laughing and congratulated the producers on creating some good drama at my expense. Of course, then I would have looked like an INSANE laughing person who'd come un-hinged...which I probably would be.

But I just mean, you gotta admit.... that was a real curve ball for her. Here you are, thinking you're The Bachelorette and men are fighting over you... and then the ONE guy that you actually fell for and were planning on picking DUMPS you!!! Never again will I complain about my own bad luck, because seriously... this takes the cake.

Even though my dream job is to be a producer on this show, I think I'd have some serious guilt problems if I contributed to turning Ali into this:
So now, Ali felt stupid and sad and had to take the flower out of her hair. And the best part of all is how Chris Harrison showed up to console her:
Next time I get dumped, I hope Hare is around to talk me down. Ali really did handle this pretty well. Either that, or she wasn't really that into Frank. I don't know.... maybe my original theory was right that she's not really the relationship type. Somehow she pulled herself together the next day.She had a little chat with Hare. She delicately wiped away a tear and decided that she still needed to have a rose ceremony.... because this is NOT just about her giving out roses... it's about the men ACCEPTING them... WHICH she has said all along.... which makes me even more suspicious of her incessant comments the whole way about "My worst fear is not being loved back."Maybe being so focused on your worst fear made it manifest?? Hahaha, just kidding. I really don't believe that much in the power of "thinking." I more believe in the power of editing and post-production.Anyway, she has the rose ceremony and Chris L. and Roberto both accept her rose. But it's bittersweet, because they are both there by default.Awkward!!! And we really didn't get to see much previews for the upcoming episodes. Only two are left: The Men Tell All, and The Finale.Yours in the Single Life,
JulieJulie

PS - I got nothing else.

PPS - I really don't. See u next time!
